Dear Vickie,
I accidentally added my crush to my private story on snap and he saw the post about him :(( I’m gonna crash outttt.
Sincerely,
Crasher-Outter
Dear Crasher-Outter,
I know it seems mortifying and embarrassing now, but it will all be okay. I hate to use this line on you, but will you remember this even happened in a year? Our current worries often seem like the biggest, most pressing issue, but there is so much more to focus on outside of that! It can be hard not to overthink and be neurotic about every little mishap, but the key is to just take life as it comes. If mishaps occur, so be it! Things work themselves out better than you’d think. You obviously use Snap, so I’m sure you would know that people don’t often pay attention to things that are posted. The reality is, everyone’s much too focused on themselves to care too deeply about things going on in other people’s lives. While that may seem harsh, it can also be reassuring. What might be the biggest deal to one person can be a ten-second fleeting moment to someone else. Maybe the outcome is positive, and maybe it’s not, but either way, you didn’t lose anything in the process! It’s not worth it to wallow in embarrassment over something that might not have even affected the person you like at all.
XOXO,
Vickie
Dear Vickie,
Hi! Do you have any good book recommendations?
Sincerely,
Bookworm
Dear Bookworm,
I have a few favorites, but I can give you recommendations for different genres! My all-time favorite has to be the Hunger Games trilogy, for many reasons! It’s a very versatile book and delves into a lot of different elements that are much more than just the romance or surface-level dystopia, so if you’re looking for something like that, I’d recommend the whole series. My favorite “classic,” so to speak, is 1984, and another one of my favorites is Normal People. It’s about exactly what it sounds like: normal people. It’s very interesting, and I don’t want to spoil, so I won’t say much, but it explores human relationships so well. Another, more philosophical one is On Earth, We’re Briefly Gorgeous, and this was my most recent read. It’s from a Vietnamese son’s perspective as he writes letters to his mother, and it’s really beautifully written. My current read is The Kite Runner, about an Afghan boy and his life, and it is incredibly sad. I don’t recommend that one unless you really want to feel devastated. Anyway! I hope some of these helped. I can’t guarantee you will like them or that they’re objectively great, but I hope they at least entertain you.
XOXO,
Vickie
