The changes to Hollywood Arts High School, and speculation about the old cast.
A newly announced Nickelodeon show, Hollywood Arts, is set to premiere on Netflix this summer! The show Hollywood Arts is a spinoff of the widely acclaimed sitcom Victorious, reimagining life at Hollywood Arts High School through the lens of a new generation of students.
Actress and entrepreneur, Daniella Monet is reprising her role as Trina Vega, an eccentric, underqualified substitute teacher at Hollywood Arts High School after previously being a comically untalented student there. Yvette Nicole Brown will also reprise her role as Principal Helen Dubois.
While these two actors are returning, many of the original cast members will not be in the sequel, instead being replaced by new actors.

While Hollyword Arts introduces a fresh group of students and perspectives, many fans remain focused on the original Victorious cast. With only Monet and Brown confirmed as series regulars, speculation has shifted toward whether other familiar faces or if they have moved on from their time at Hollywood Arts High School entirely.
Victoria Justice: In an Entertainment Tonight interview, Victorious star Victoria Justice was questioned about whether she was reprising her role as the main character of the show, Tori Vega. She claims, “I mean, you never know, like maybe you know, Tori will pop in for an episode, who knows, never say never.” This cameo indicates that Justice might appear as a guest star for 1-2 episodes, but overall, she’s very enthusiastic for her on-screen older sister, Daniella.
Leon Thomas: Leon Thomas III, the artist known for his album Mutt (which won a 2026 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album), has expressed interest in returning to the show as Andre Harris. He remarked on Entertainment Tonight that he’s interested in returning to the show. He states, “I think it’d be really cool if my character was a guest uh music teacher, you know, came back to do a seminar on music or something, you know,” This statement highlights that Thomas is highly passionate about Victorious and music in general. Notably, he wrote a song called “Song 2 You” when he was 13 years old, and made it public on the show in the episode titled “The Diddly Bops.”
Ariana Grande: Despite Justice and Thomas being in the role, speculation was happening about whether Ariana Grande would be reprising Cat Valentine in the new production. Grande spoke about her experiences as a teenager on the show, playing a comedic persona, as well as elaborating on the toxic environment and the abuse she faced from Nickelodeon producer, Dan Schneider, on the Podcrushed podcast. Although Schneider is not producing Hollywood Arts, filming was happening in early 2025, around the same time as Wicked For Good, which confirms that Grande isn’t going to be in the reboot, even though Victorious was her first-ever acting gig.
Elizabeth Gillies: As of December 2025, Liz Gillies, who played Jade West, discusses her plans for the upcoming spin-off. On the Zach Sang Show, she describes how her life would be during the events of Hollywood Arts with her on-screen boyfriend, Beck Oliver, played by Avan Jogia. She notes, “I think she’s I think she has a child with Beck. I think she has a tattoo parlor. I think he comes in and tattoos once in a while for a lot of money, but he barely he’s he’s a stay-at-home dad basically who’s very artistic.”
But all in all, she’s very hyped for the spin-off.
Avan Jogia: Jogia, the actor known for the new Prime show, 56 Days, states that he would like to reprise his character, Beck Oliver. He told Parade that he wants Beck to return to the show as someone completely different. “But he has to come back, and has to be very, very weird.” Fans knew him as the most mature cast member because both Beck and Avan are actors. But Jogia has been playing very serious roles after Victorious and probably wants to bring back his most comedic character.
Matt Bennett: Actor and DJ Matthew Bennett has not confirmed whether or not he will return to Victorious as Robbie Shapiro. But according to a Reddit post by the user r/victorious, some fans believe Bennett is not reprising Robbie because of his tour titled Party 101. Some believe that he will return because that’s how people know him today, and that he would love to return to the show despite Party 101.
Unfortunately, this show will inevitably differ from the original for a couple of reasons. Dan Schneider is not producing it, so the new cast is in a safer and more professional production environment. Most of the original cast has not yet 100% confirmed that they will star in their old roles. On Victorious, the main cast were minors around 16-17 years old, and almost the entire new cast are in their 20s. Overall, fans are eagerly anticipating watching the new interpretations Monet and the newly announced cast will take with the high school in modern times.
