Jingle Ball, presented by CapitalOne, and hosted by iHeartRadio, is an annual holiday season tour that allows fans to see their favorite artists perform some of their new and hit songs of the year. Artists, like Zara Larsson, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Dean, and many others, were some of the performers at this year’s Jingle Ball Tour. But many ignored the guest performer, and the youngest performer at this year’s Jingle Ball: Freya Skye.
She’s not just your average artist. Freya Skye is a 16-year-old singer, actress, and songwriter from the United Kingdom who was chosen by iHeartMedia to be a guest performer at Jingle Ball.
Skye was initially supposed to present at Jingle Ball, which is still a huge deal for someone that young. But then she got a call back and was asked to perform her own song in front of thousands of people. She performed her newest single, “Silent Treatment,” in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Detroit. On December 14, she made a surprise announcement on Instagram that she would be performing in Boston on the day of the performance. The day after, her team made the same announcement, surprising fans with the news that Skye would be performing in Philadelphia on December 15.
In a KISSFAM interview, she talks about her reaction, saying, “It’s just ridiculous. It doesn’t feel right, it feels wrong.”
Following her performances at Jingle Ball, Freya announced that she will embark on her first-ever solo tour across North America, titled the Stars Align Tour. And is already performing three acoustic shows in New York on December 11th, Los Angeles on December 17th, and in London on January 8th.
Before Jingle Ball, Skye was the main female role in one of the Top 10 movies in the United States, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, and is planning on returning to the franchise in the future. She performed songs from the franchise at the Descendants: Zombies World’s Collide Tour and even gave a solo performance of her most famous song, “Golds Gone.” After the tour, she played a guest character on a new show called Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which is a spin-off of the show Wizards of Waverly Place, starring Selena Gomez.
At just 16, Freya Skye is building an impressive career with a bright future, proving that age is no barrier to success in the industry.
