On November 4th 2025, I interviewed one of our school librarians, Mrs.Hanusosky, about the school library, and her opinion and views on the school environment, and here was her response to 10 questions asked.
Viking Vibe:“So, how long have you been working here and do you remember the first book you read in this library?
Mrs. Kate Hanusosky– “ I’ve been working here since March 2021. Probably one of the first books I read was Dear Martin by Nic Stone.”
VV: “Out of all these books which one is your favourite or which make the top tier list?”
KH: “One of my all time favourites is Remarkably Bright Creatures.”
VV:“What is one book you would recommend for a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior?”
KH: – “The Hate U Give for everybody. It’s entertaining and fast paced.”
VV:“What is your favorite decoration in the library?”
KH: – “[Gasp], my jellyfish lava lamp.”
VV:“Is there any book here that was turned into a show/movie and would you recommend either the book or the show/movie?”
KH: – “The movie is coming out [soon], but Project Hail Mary. “
VV:“What is your least favorite book read in the library?”
KH: – “Anything by Dr.Seuss.”
VV: “What was the most recent book you read in this library, and would you recommend it?”
KH– “Red Rising by Pierce Brown. It’s kind of like hunger games, but if you like dystopian [ novels ], then you would definitely like this. “
VV:“What book do you think has the prettiest cover in the library?”
KH:– “When The Bones Sing by Ginny Myers Sain. “
VV:“What is your favorite genre to read in this library?”
KH: – “Fantasy. My favorite is Ember in the Ashes.”
VV:“Do you think students are able to silently work well here?”
KH:“Absolutely. We’re the busiest during third block, and yes, there are definitely quiet spots.”
Our school library has lots of more information to give out, so stay tuned for more interviews with our librarians!
